As of the closing of the applications period at the end of July, the 2023 Environmental Innovation Awards competition received a record intake of candidates compared to its first edition. Registered candidates spanned across 12 countries and 4 continents and were spread as follows over the various themes:
- Sustainable Food and Agriculture: 27%
- Cleantech: 17%
- Sustainable Materials: 15%
- Sustainable Mobility: 13%
- Waste Management: 10%
- Energy Efficiency: 10%
- Renewable Energy: 5%
- Water Management: 3%
The awards team will now proceed with the first step in the selection process which should result in a shortlist of 15 finalists by the end of August, that will be put forward to the jury for the final decision.
The three winners will be announced on stage at the Awards Ceremony to be held at Building Bridges on October 4th in Geneva.
We are extremely grateful to all the companies that took the time to apply to the awards and we are extremely lucky to have them on board. As for the first edition, we are impressed by the high quality of the applications and the high degree of commitment from the various teams. This is a very encouraging sign for bringing solutions to the significant environmental challenges ahead of all of us.
